"The Pirates of Salgari"

Epic #33, November 1987 ($1.00)
Poem:
"When they come into your town-
The Pirates of Salgari-
Will grab what isn't nailed down-
As much as they can carry.
They take each coin and jewel and gem-
And then they take the rest-
You'll know that when you're robbed by them-
You're plundered by the best.
They wreck each house and inn and farm-
They leave the city burning-
They do not care just who they harm-
They're very undiscerning-
But though they leave your town to rot-
And slaughter all in view-
The pirates at their worst are not-
As dangerous as Groo."

Moral:
"Be careful when you take one side or the other.
You could wind up in the middle."
