"The Mines of Minas"

Epic #76, April 1991 ($1.00)
Poem:
"If you go to the desert
on a work or pleasure trip-
The odds are very likely
that you will not see a ship.
For ships are in the ocean,
which is just as it was planned.
A desert is no place for ships
with all its dust and sand.
A ship that's in the ocean
travels far and travels near.
A ship that's in the desert
will just sit around all year.
To find one in the desert
would give any tourist pause-
But those who read this comic
know exactly who's the cause.
A desert that behaves the way
a desert ought to do-
Would not be half as barren
as the cranium of Groo."

Moral:
"There is a lesson to be learned from every bit of misfortune."
