"Rufferto Avenged"

Poem:
"Wherever Groo may wander
On his dog, he can depend
No canine could be fonder
Than Rufferto of his friend.

It often has been noted
That Groo treats him like a brother
For few are as devoted
As these two to one another.

This month, we have the story
How Groo's vengeance was released
In all its bloody glory
When Rufferto was deceased.

But lest the reader get alarmed
At this horrendous crime
The dog has truly not been harmed
(you'll understand in time).

Groo's fury, undiminished
(knowing not his dog survives)
Means by the time he's finished
All in sight may lose their lives."

Moral:
"The man who accuses others falsely only succeeds
in condemning himself."
