"The Gurus"

Epic #66, June 1990 ($1.00)
Poem:
"People of all shapes and size-
Seek the wisdom of the wise-
They can tell you with no doubt-
What your life is all about,
They can give you great advice-
That is, if you meet their price.
(Actually, the words are free-
It's listening that costs a fee.)
On and on, you pay and pay-
Hoping they will show the way.
With the answer, they will lure you-
And make sure that they don't cure you.
None of the above applies-
If you actually get wise."

Moral:
"Wisdom cannot be bought. It can, at best,
be rented until you can find your own."
