"The Book Burners"

Epic #78, June 1991 ($1.00)
Poem:
"Thank Goodness for the people who
fulfill a vital need--
Of telling you which books it is
okay for you to read.
For they provide a service that
is full and comprehensive-
If not for them, you might have thoughts
that they would find offensive.
You might not share their viewpoints on
a multitude of sins-
But your rights end the minute
their discomfort begins.
A world without the censors would,
with jeopardy be fraught,
They save us from the danger of
and independent thought."

Moral:
"Those who would protect you from words would
protect you from your right to think."
